OUR INTERVIEW WITH ANGELA SMITH. OUR SENIOR RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT IN THE LEGAL SECTOR WITH OVER 12 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITHIN FINANCE, ACCOUNTING AND LEGAL PROFESSIONS IN LONDON AND AUSTRALIA.
Why did you choose a career in recruitment?
I have always worked in sales and customer service within the travel industry, which I enjoyed but unfortunately, I had to work weekends. I had a friend who worked in recruitment and told me you can make still make enough money and not have to work weekends. I was in my twenties, and I wanted my weekends free and to earn good money was, of course, an advantage!
What are the benefits of working from home?
You can log in anytime, and I don’t have the travel and commute anymore, which is saving me two hours each day! I think as long as you’re motivated then working from home is great, as I still organise my day the same way, but without any distractions.
What drives you to do your best?
I do love recruitment, I know that sounds a bit cliché… but I do. I enjoy helping people and seeing people’s careers develop. It’s nice to match someone to a job, and both parties are happy customers. At Mills Resources, it is not just about KPI’s and meeting clients and candidates for the sake of it; it’s about giving excellent services to everyone.
